Black History Month- Beverly Johnson

This week’s Black History Month spotlight goes to Beverly Johnson.  Ms. Johnson made history in 1974 as the first Black model to appear on the cover of American Vogue.

Following in the footsteps of Dorothea Towles Church, Donyale Luna, and Naomi Sims–Johnson helped paved the way for black women in fashion.

Beverly has been keeping busy, along with acting and being a businesswoman, she has created a dynamic wig collection that reflects how important great hair is to African American women. She designs everything from weaves to synthetic or lush human hair wigs.  She truly brings her natural beauty to women all over the world.
